About Sarah

I bring over fifteen years of experience as an educator in New York City and New Jersey, working as a kindergarten, first grade, and inclusion teacher supporting diverse learners.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from New England College and a Master’s degree in Early Childhood and Special Education from Fordham University.

As both an educator and parent of a neurodivergent child, my work is deeply personal. My own experiences with ADHD, anxiety, auditory processing challenges, and learning differences give me a unique understanding of how children experience the world and how to support them with empathy and compassion. I believe behavior is communication, often reflecting unmet emotional, developmental, or sensory needs.

My goal is to help families better understand their children, create supportive environments where they can thrive, and feel empowered navigating school and home life with confidence.

Client Reviews

"Working with Sarah Barlow before my daughter's mediation hearing prepared me in ways I didn't even know I needed to be prepared for. I had talking points, a clear sense of direction, and the language I needed to feel confident. I felt like I was heading into the Lion's den like Elle Woods."

"Sarah was an immeasurable source of support and guidance for our family throughout our son's Selective Mutism diagnosis journey. Even before the official diagnosis, she helped connect us with therapists and doctors, assisted in drafting letters to our school district to ensure a 504 plan, and created visual charts that made our son's morning routine and transition to school so much easier.

She truly held our hand every step of the way, offering constant encouragement, compassion and expertise during an incredibly overwhelming time. Sarah gave us reassurance when we needed it most and always made us feel that everything would be OK. We genuinely would have been lost without her support, knowledge, and friendship, and we are deeply grateful for the impact she has had on our family.”

"Sarah has been an incredible source of support for our family. She was my daughter's teacher K-1 and quickly became a trusted advisor for setting goals and advising on how to best cater to my daughter's needs. Now, as an advocate, she has been an amazing sounding board as we navigate school placement for our 8-year-old daughter.

Her background in education and learning differences gives her guidance real depth, but what makes Sarah so special is the empathy and care she brings to every conversation.

Sarah listens carefully, understands the emotional weight of these decisions, and helps families feel less alone while figuring out the best path forward. I am so grateful to have her in our corner."
